About us

The Injured Workers’ Research and Advocacy Project (IWRAP) brings together material, research and teaching resources to support injured workers and their advocates in their B.C. compensation claims. This website is endorsed by the B.C. Federation of Labour and the Workers’ Compensation Advocacy Group.

In addition to the public pages, there is a Member Portal which makes specialized research and training materials available to approved IWRAP members.

Access to the Member Portal in IWRAP is approved by the Administrator and Advisory Committee for individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • They represent injured workers in compensation claims (including themselves or a family member); and
  • They are not involved in the administration of the compensation system (broadly defined) or employed by an entity funded by the Accident Fund; and
  • They agree not to use the material in the Member Portal in a public forum, without permission from IWRAP; and
  • They support a fair compensation system, based on the Historic Compromise.

Membership requests may be sent to the Administrator, Janet Patterson at info@wcbadvocacybc.ca. We also welcome contributions to the website, including updates, resources and guest blogs.
